It also comes back to me that I think I once made a comment at another post at 'Random radio jottings' as the name looks vaguely familiar...and the Hull/France story behind its author, for that matter.

Just over this past few days I've been made aware of the fact that the simply wonderful YouTube channel, 'Retro British Television' has made another attempt at an existence on the platform, maybe only to be taken down within a matter of days. I was watching an edition of 'Whittaker's World Of Music', (the very first edition) recorded on 4th April 1971, where there was a guest performance by Sylvia McNeill, which was a name completely new to me, so, as one does, I looked into her and found this 'Random radio jottings' Blog post, where Sylvia is referenced as "who?", so it appears that I'm not the only one whom has been mystified by the name. By chance, another rather more familiar name mentioned in that article embedded at your post, PP Arnold, is connected with this date, as, one-and-a-half decades ago, on 29th January 2009, I went to see her appearing with Geno Washington and Jimmy James at 'This Is Soul' at Derby's Assembly Rooms.

You may recall my drawing parallels between Tony Blackburn and another child of 29th January, Valérie Čižmárová, for whom I run the Fan Blog, 'Bananas For Breakfast'. At today's post, marking what should have been her seventy-second birthday, you will note that there've been a couple more celebrities who have come to my attention who were born on that date.

I hope you enjoy that 'Whittaker's World Of Music' and that 'Bananas For Breakfast' post and the 'Girls Of The Golden East' post linked therefrom!Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00082063603675012970noreply@blogger.com
