On this date back in 2003 Noel Edmonds made his return to national radio when he sat in for a recuperating Johnnie Walker on BBC Radio 2. And the first record he played was Harry Chapin’s W.O.L.D. Noel had a bit of a soft spot for those singer songwriters (he chose music from Neil Diamond, John Stewart and Jim Croce on his 1978 Desert Islands Discs appearance) so perhaps it wasn’t a great surprise for this former “morning DJ”.
